It does its predecessor proud. This automatic pilot-style watch has a 42mm case with an elegant, elliptical shape reminiscent of its namesake aircraft. There are similar subtle cues throughout its design, including a dial that recalls the gauges and meters of an airplane cockpit.&nbsp; Even the hands are made to reference the altimeter and air speed indicators of the Spitfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall it\u2019s a sleek, stylish and\u2014dare I say it\u2014timeless timepiece that wouldn\u2019t look out of place with any outfit or in any era. Of course none of that would mean much if the Spitfire Type 300 Automatic wasn\u2019t a thoroughly functional and reliable watch, which it is. The hands are designed for precise readability and layered with high grade Swiss lume.
