 Darton DEMON SD Review

When you make your choice of bow, you should take into consideration how you plan on using it before you actually commit to buying the bow. Many bows are very temperamental and may be great at hunting in some respects and nearly useless in other situations. However, Darton feels that this is an outdated idea and released the Demon SD to give archers the power and flexibility they need to dominate anywhere.

Things to Consider Before Buying

With Darton being one of the most respected names in archery, it is no surprise that archers everywhere are loving the new Demon line of bows for its versatility and ability to take on any challenge. The Demon bows are built on a 30-inch frame that is smaller than most bows, while still offering all the benefits of a larger bow. The bow’s small package means that archers can take this bow from the open fields to a tree stand and see equal success in either situation.

The Darton DualSync technology seen on all Demon bows gives archers a shooting experience that perfectly blends performance and comfort into a package that is unmistakably Darton.

Where the line tends to separate more is with the Demon SD, which offers the benefit of the Demon line to smaller framed archers. The SD variant of the Demon has all of the excellent features of the other Demon bows, but it also has a special cam system that gives smaller shooters an easier time drawing the bow. The smaller draw range means that archers who would have wanted to use the Demon in the past can now use it with ease and get all of the benefits of an excellent shooting platform.

Who Should Buy it?

With the Demon SD offering a powerful package designed for smaller framed archers, it is perfect for the smaller archer who wants plenty of power. The excellent design of the Demon platform paired with a short draw cam gives shorter archers all the bow they could ever need without any compromises.

Who Shouldn’t Buy it?

Even though the Demon is great for smaller archers, it is still not a beginner bow. The raw power and performance of the Demon SD was designed with the experienced archer in mind and should not be used by beginners or younger archers who are still learning the basics.

Pros

  • The SD Demon package gives smaller framed archers all the power and potential of a larger bow
  • The Demon platform is the power needed to take on a hunt
  • The smaller frame of the Demon allows archers to take the bow to the most extreme environments

Cons

  • The smaller frame of the bow may not be suitable for larger archers

Final thoughts

For a bow that opens up the opportunities of what a small bow can do, the Demon SD gives unseen power to smaller bows that has never been seen before.

The Darton Demon Compound Bow Review
The Demon SD Compound Bow is a light weight bow designed for both archers of varying levels of experience and strength. In contrast to other popular compound bows, the Demon’s draw weight is adjustable between one and four pounds. This bow also features one-piece limbs, which are held together at the bottom by the choice of seven tension rods, making it virtually impossible to bend the limb. The design of the limb also means that the limb and the bow cannot be placed in direct contact with each other. As a result, a loss of efficiency is unlikely if the limbs are placed next to each other.

The Demon SD offers an eight-pound draw weight with a solid maple or rosewood bow and a pre-drilled and pre-punched feathering groove. The two front limbs also feature a soft rubber stem for easy removal and cleaning. A molded fiberglass tip is molded into the spine of the limbs, which acts as a shock absorber and helps ensure that the wind can’t knock the limbs out of position. The bone of the limbs are ground flush with the spine to improve grip and ergonomics. All of these characteristics contribute to the overall comfort and performance of the compound bow.

The Darton Demon SD has a five inch draw weight and is made from steel. Because it is so lightweight, the performance of the arrow is increased, so if you’re going to shoot arrows, you should consider a lightweight compound bow such as the Demon. If you plan on keeping your compound bow, you might want to consider an all maple or an all rosewood compound bow. An all maple compound bow is one that is crafted from maple or rosewood, and the only difference between maple and rosewood is the color. While rosewood is softer and more dense than maple, the price will generally be higher than the Rosewood, but you will still get better quality.
