ROYALE reviews

Bear knows that there are always new generations of hunters being raised every day and they want to be the ones to provide the first bow that a kid ever touches. With the Bear Royale, the introduction into the hunting world now comes in a package that pleases the children and a price that pleases the parents.

Things to consider before buying

The Bear Royale is the right weight and size for any new hunter and will grow with them as the progress on their archery journey. The Royale weighs only 3.3 pounds, which makes it one of the lightest bows on the market and will be perfect for a young child to train with and perfect their aim. The Royale also has an adjustable draw weight that starts at 7 pounds and can go all the way up to 50.

Having the ability to create an entirely different shooting experience with just an Allen wrench means that you can take the Royale from a beginner bow to a formidable intermediate bow, as the child using it becomes more comfortable and in touch with the bow. Just because the Royale is meant for young archers doesn’t mean it misses out on the standard treatment of Bear innovations. The Royale sonicstops help reduce vibration and make it easier for young archers to get comfortable without the often-intimidating power.

Who should buy it?

The Bear Royale is very clearly marketed towards young children who are getting into archery and that is where this bow will feel most at home. The light design and forgivable shooting power mean that new archers can pick-up the Royale and be learning with it in no time. For the young and blossoming archer, the Royale will be all the bow they need for many years as they adjust and enhance its ability as they enhance theirs.

Who shouldn’t buy it?

The size and weight of the Royale may seem appealing for someone who wants a light and easy to use bow, but the Royale wasn’t designed for this archer. The Royale was designed for children and having an older archer use it would be uncomfortable and inefficient. Even if you have never shot a bow before, the Royale will give a false impression to any beginner archer who is older than a teenager.

Pros

  • The Royale is incredibly adjustable and can serve as a bow for a young child’s entire growth period
  • The price point is very affordable, considering the growth potential and build quality
  • Bear implemented their proven technology from other bows to create a well-rounded package

Cons

  • The target market of the bow is limited and only directed at children
  • It could seem hard to justify buying a bow that a child will grow out of in a few years.

Final Thoughts

For the young archer looking to grow and learn with their bow, the Bear Royale is the perfect bow to get a child introduced into the wonderful world of archery.

Bear bows for sale

The Bear ROYALE Compound Bow was one of the most durable bow of the 1980’s. It was first introduced by Steve Wolf in 1981. This bow has been in continuous production for over twenty years and is still offered to collectors and dealers. This product started out as a prototype that was shown to the public at a trade show. Steve Wolf had hoped to show it at the 1987 National Archery Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, but his plan was thwarted when his supplier declared bankruptcy due to poor financial management. Wolf then moved on to develop a compound arrow. This was another prototype, a result of the poor financial issues of his suppliers, and he brought out the compound arrow in 1986.

Wolf had given his patented compound arrow a large discount and was able to sell it to the public. The Arrow Company, in its turn, decided to produce this product with the name “Bear ROYALE” since it was available only from the Archery Company, Wolf’s company. The Arrow Company and Wolf both licensed the Bear Products name, but they were not able to produce the same quality arrows with the same attractive appearance. So, this company was also using Wolf’s design with its own distinctive look. They also used the popular letter “R” on the shaft of the Arrow Company products to distinguish them from the Wolf Products.

Since Wolf still holds the patent for the compound bow, he offers this product with a lifetime warranty. This bow also has a customer service department, which is available on the toll free phone numbers in the U.S. and Canada. The first batch of Bear Products was a success and they have now introduced two new models to satisfy the demands of the customers. These include the online version of the Bowline Archery Products, which can be found on Amazon.com and also the all-in-one Bear Compound Bow with Flemish Bling.
